I don't suppose I'll get the chance to visit any time soon. I'd never see half the places I go to if I wasn't working - not on my budget. One day though - we can all dream.

I've got a few photos of Lac Leman (Lake Geneva), taken from our air ambulance flights, but the last couple of flights out to Geneva, the weather's been appalling and useless for photography. Glad you managed to get this beautiful shot.

Yeah, you just have to get lucky I guess :(

I'd love to do some low-level flying around the Alps some day :)

And thanks for the fav!

That's where I'm REALLY lucky. If we're in the Seneca or Chieftains we can only fly to 10000 ft if we have a patient on board. The ceiling on the Cheyenne is FL290, but that doesn't matter as we're often in Geneva in the winter to pick up patients anyway. One day I'm hoping to actually have the opportunity to leave the airport, rather than having my patient brought to me every time. I'd love to get a really close look at that lake.

The lake is like... most lakes ;) It's more the scenery around it that's quite nice (though I think the Alps are more impressive when you push "deeper"). You could have a look at Castle Chillon, that's pretty nifty.

Well, you could make a change from ships and go for planes some time :)

How about an airship, Cornelia? Best of both worlds.

Airships, well - not really.. not my thing, not a real airplane, nor a ship either. I perfer - IF I must - flying, I will stick my face into a book and concentrate on the food and try to forget the fact that I am up up in the sky, a place where I shouldn't be :-) Usually works !

Airships are more ship than plane though..I'm sure you'd get to like them a little bit....

I have never felt very comfy up there in the air anyways, it's just my weak spot :-)
